This side event aims to provide an overview of the approaches currently been taken by governments and regional integration organisations for effective implementation of Article 9 of the CRPD with a focus on key legislative measures. The EU is in the negotiation process of a European Accessibility Act. It is thus a perfect time to discuss the range of instruments which are currently being used by governments to implement article 9, but also to hear the perspectives of organisations of persons with disabilities as well as industry representatives.
